If I ever won the lottery, this is the sort of villa I would love to own.  It is huge and magnificent but without being cold and austere.  All the rooms are large but comfortable, and flow well into each other.  The owners took on this ‘architect designed’ house many years ago and have spent their time and money (evidently a lot of it!) into converting this property into a warm and welcoming home.  The decor and attention to detail is perfect.

The 400m2 of habitable space offers 7 bedrooms, all with connecting bathrooms, an excellent kitchen, separate dining room with chimney, formal (but comfortable) sitting room, a cosier tv room, 2 office areas, laundry room and garage. All the rooms are light and bright, many lead onto terraces or balconies and most have great views.

The garden is over an acre (4000m2) and has fruit trees, mediterranean planting, a huge pool with terrace and loggia, and plenty of parking space.  I mentioned the views earlier – to the left you look down over the valley leading down to the lovely town of Céret, to the right you see the mountains, and particularly Mount Canigou.  Just breath-taking.

This house is ideal for a large family (or a couple who need their own personal spaces!) but also offers great commercial potential as it could be run as a superb Chambre d’Hotes.  The owners have also very successfully rented it out during the summer season.

Realistically priced at 799,000€
